We are seeking a dedicated and inspirational Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Kirklees. Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one of the science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging Science lessons
  • Set high expectations for all students and inspire success
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress
  • Differentiate lessons to support SEN, EAL, and high-ability learners
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments
  • Create a stimulating learning environment with effective displays
  • Participate in the development of schemes of work and resources
  • Attend departmental, staff, and parent meetings
  • Use data to inform teaching and improve outcomes
  • Promote a love of science through enrichment activities
  • Contribute to whole-school events and science initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the curriculum
