About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to start as soon as possible in a dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting student achievement, both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements

  • should have a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of child development and learning strategies
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

  • Delivering learning activities to individuals, groups, or whole classes under the direction of teaching staff
  • Assisting teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEND)
  • Monitoring student progress and feeding back to teachers
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies in class
  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students
  • Creating engaging resources and teaching aids
  • Supporting students with homework or revision
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies where required
  • Upholding safeguarding procedures and policies
