Industrial Buyer

Location: Castleford

Salary: ÂŁ48,000 (DOE)

Hours: Hybrid Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (1 day from home)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase CAPEX, MRO, facilities services, and professional/technical services across all UK sites
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to deliver the best value, quality, and innovation
  • Support capital investment projects by aligning procurement with project plans and budgets
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and market analysis
  • Manage multiple procurement categories within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, safety policies, and purchasing strategies
  • Handle multiple priorities under pressure and adapt to changing project needs

About You:

  • Proven experience purchasing industrial, manufacturing, or engineering equipment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
  • A “can-do” attitude is a must – you’re proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to manage suppliers and stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to analyse information quickly and make sound decisions
  • SIPs qualification or a degree in a relevant field is a bonus, but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident using Microsoft Office tools
