IT Lead / Azure DevOps Engineer required to work Hybrid (2 days from home & 3 days in the office) in Leeds, West LS15.

Job Purpose:

The seamless operation of IT systems is crucial to the Company. Each server, firewall, and network component must synchronise flawlessly to keep our business running smoothly and our IT puzzle fits perfectly together. This is a new pivotal role which will help complete the puzzle and support a robust, secure, and efficient technology environment that powers my client’s company’s success and achieve their business goals. This role will report directly to the Head of IT and manage the overarching including networks, servers, and related systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose, reliable, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Managing changes to the IT environment. This includes evaluating new software and hardware, implementing upgrades, and ensuring that all changes are properly documented and tested.
  • Lead and mentor one first line support team member & communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Planning and Design:

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure components, including networks, production, UAT and data centre. Ensure infrastructure is scalable and robust to meet current and future needs.

Management and Operations:

  • Oversee our Azure Cloud-based infrastructure, including managing cloud services, ensuring that data stored in the cloud is secure, and optimised and kept up to date.
  • Hardware: Management of hardware components like servers, routers, and data centres that form the backbone of the IT environment.
  • Network infrastructure: managing & organization’s network, including the physical and virtual networks, network security, and ensuring that data can be transmitted efficiently
  • Software infrastructure: manage the software that runs on the organisation’s IT systems. This includes operating systems like Microsoft Windows, applications, and other software that supports business operations.
  • Data storage infrastructure: manage data storage, including ensuring that data is stored securely, backed up, and can be recovered if needed.
  • Document IT infrastructure and procedures.

Security:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT infrastructure and data, such as pen-testing. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.

Skills required:

  • Proven strong knowledge of operating systems, on prem and Azure cloud-based server management, and network infrastructure and have a deep understanding of hardware and software components.
  • IT Infrastructure and data, such as pen-testing skills required.
  • Project management skills and vendor relationship management, including planning, coordinating, and executing infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Communication skills, to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex systems.
  • Leadership and the ability to motivate and manage one direct report.
  • Ability to recognise potential risks that should be escalated.

Desirable:

  • Experience of taking single-server environments and splitting them out into multiple environments.
