Ready to start an exciting new role in a central Leeds primary school this September?We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and supportive team at a thriving primary school in the heart of Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse range of pupils, supporting their individual learning journeys and making a significant contribution to their education and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be committed to inclusive practices and providing high-quality support within a dynamic and welcoming school.Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality, one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting students with their emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Communicating effectively with class teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and other professionals involved in the child's education.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress.
  • Contributing to the creation of a positive and stimulating learning environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of various SEN needs and appropriate support strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Team Teach).
  • Experience supporting specific SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
  • Experience using visual supports and other strategies to support communication and learning.
