The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully supporting children with ADHD and Autism, demonstrating a deep understanding of their individual needs and appropriate strategies.Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality, one-to-one and small group support to pupils with ADHD and Autism.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to individual learning styles and needs.
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Supporting students with their emotional, social, and behavioural needs using evidence-based strategies.
- Communicating effectively with the class teacher, support staff, parents/carers, and other professionals involved in the child's education.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress, ensuring confidentiality.
- Contributing to a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters inclusion and understanding.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school setting.
- Significant experience supporting children with ADHD and Autism.
- A strong understanding of the characteristics of ADHD and Autism and appropriate intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Team Teach, specific training in ADHD and Autism).
- Experience using visual supports and other strategies to support communication and learning.
- Knowledge of specific educational programs or initiatives used to support children with ADHD and Autism.
