The Role:

Veritas Education are working with a number of specialist and mainstream SEN provisions looking to recruit specialist 1:1 support staff. In this role, you will work with a specific learner/group of learners, who require direct intervention and support from staff to help them within their education.

As a 1:1 Support staff member, you will support children across a range of subjects, activities and curriculum, helping the learner with their work, keeping them engaged and liaising with the class teacher on providing an inclusive environment for the students.

There will be a focus on supporting specific learning needs, such as Autism and ADHD, assisting with specific interventions set out for learners, and helping manage challenging and at-risk behaviour.

The Ideal Applicant:

  • Committed, punctual and passionate about proving the best care and education for all learners.
  • Experienced in supporting children with varying learning, complex, social and behavioural needs (Previous experience doesn't have to be from education, it can be from other sectors).
  • Comfortable supporting on a 1:1 basis with one individual learner or with small groups.
  • Able to assist with intervention sessions and specific plans set in place according to a learners EHCP's.
  • Confident in dealing with challenging and at-risk behaviour, being able to implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques in a calm and professional manor.
