The Role:

Veritas Education are working with a cluster of SEN schools in the Leeds area looking to recruit multiple "Special Needs Support" staff.

  • You will work alongside a range of learners from early years age groups up to post 16 (Up to 19 years old).
  • Support a range of learning needs from Autism, Asperger's, ADHD, sensory and communication needs.
  • Be comfortable working on a 1:1 basis with a range of learners, supporting them throughout their daily activities, whether that is in the classroom, or activities outside/around the community.
  • Confidently support children demonstrating challenging behaviour, helping de-escalate crisis moments, and implement behaviour management strategies to calm situations.
  • Effectively work alongside a range of support, teaching, leaders and external staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

This is an ideal role for anyone currently in a mainstream school support role looking to transition into a special needs school, or anyone that has recently finished their degree looking for their first full time permanent role in education!
