We are hiring for a Trade Counter / Stores Operative who is experienced in trade counter sales and warehouse logistics in Leeds. This is a fast-paced, customer-facing environment where you will be supporting efficient product distribution while delivering a high level of service to trade clients.

Duties of a Trade Counter / Stores Operative

In this role, you will be working in the Operations & Sales team to ensure efficient handling of goods and exceptional customer interaction. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving customers at the trade counter and providing product advice

  • Processing orders, returns, and handling payments accurately

  • Picking, packing, and preparing goods for customer collection and deliveries

  • Organising incoming stock deliveries and performing stock checks

  • Maintaining clean and compliant warehouse and sales environments

Skills and Experience of a Trade Counter / Stores Operative

As a Trade Counter / Stores Operative, you need to have experience with:

  • Customer service and face-to-face trade sales

  • Warehouse operations, including stock handling and documentation

It would be beneficial to the Trade Counter / Stores Operative role if you also had:

  • A background in electrical or construction products

  • Forklift truck (counterbalance) certification

  • Experience with inventory systems or sales order processing software
