The Role and About You:

As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping critical assets in top condition. Your work will cover the full spectrum of mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy-duty machinery, specialist vehicles, and associated systems. This is a safety-critical operations role where your attention to detail, accountability, and knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering will be put to the test.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
  • Replacing and installing components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels
  • Following technical documentation and schematics
  • Completing condition checks, ensuring all work meets safety, compliance, and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a skilled engineering team

This role requires you to work on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern covering 2 days and 2 nights, with the working hours being 07:00 – 19:00/19:00 – 07:00.

As part of joining a safety-critical environment, you will complete pre-employment checks including a rail medical and drug and alcohol screening, supporting your readiness for the role.
