A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join an established leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment.

Job Description:

  • You will operate welding machines to fuse metal segments together using MIG or other processes
  • Measuring, cutting, clamping, grinding, drilling, or tacking metal pieces before welding
  • You will be required to fabricate parts following mechanical drawings.
  • You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • You will be expected to maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to the customers' requirements.
  • You will check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order.
  • Performance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems shortages or equipment breakdowns.
  • You may be required to visit customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related the role.
  • Quality inspection of colleague's output.

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Fabrication/welding- MIG, MMA/Stick Welding, Stud Welding and Plasma Cutting-
  • Preferable have experience using the Armada Press Brake
  • Hands-on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
  • The ability to understand mechanical drawings
  • Overhead crane/lifting slinging experience
  • FLT Counterbalance
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel
  • Experience of working within a continuous improvement environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
