We are currently seeking a dedicated Homeless Officer to join our Property team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving the community and helping to provide solutions for those in need.

Description

  • Conduct assessments of homelessness applications in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Provide advice and assistance to individuals and families regarding housing options.
  • Work closely with local agencies and partners to provide holistic support to individuals in need.
  • Manage a caseload of homelessness applications and reviews.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all actions are in compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Work as part of the Property team to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Participate in out-of-hours duty rota as required.

Profile

A successful Homeless Officer should have:

  • A strong understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act and other relevant housing legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure.
  • Experience working within the public sector, particularly in housing or a related field.
  • A solution-focused approach and the ability to think creatively to resolve complex situations.
