We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading engineering solutions provider in Leicestershire.

Our client delivers full turnkey solutions for major process-related projects predominantly across the UK and Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to be involved with projects at any stage of their design, development, testing and implementation while ensuring safe and professional project management throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development You will gather essential information to produce innovative design solutions and provide engineering expertise during client discussions, meetings and site visits. The role involves producing and updating electrical schematics using AutoCAD, controlling revisions appropriately, and specifying components to create Bills of Materials for purchase order processing.

Technical Implementation A key aspect of the position involves developing PLC and HMI control software alongside involvement in control panel testing and troubleshooting. You will participate in both Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure systems meet specification requirements.

Project Coordination & Client Support You will liaise with suppliers, contractors, installation engineers and specialists to ensure systems and equipment are supplied and installed according to project requirements. The role includes providing site supervision for contractors and acting as the company point of contact on site. Additionally, you will collate information to assist with producing comprehensive installation documentation for clients.

Travel & Site Work This position requires travel to client sites both within the UK and internationally to carry out surveys, installations, commissioning and other project activities.
