Management Accountant

SF Recruitment are delighted to be working with alongside a manufacturing group in Leicestershire in their search for a Management Accountant. This is a full time, permanent opportunity reporting into a supportive Financial Controller. The ideal Management Accountant will be part or qualified (ACCA/CIMA) & enjoy working in a small, friendly accounts team. Experience within an SME / Manufacturing business is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual results.
- Perform cost accounting functions, including inventory reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis of standard costs, manufacturing variances, and excess/obsolete inventory.
- Analyse costs, revenues, margins, and profitability across products and services.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT calculations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process and performance improvements.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, special projects, and the development of new reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong team player with solid understanding of GAAP reporting.
- Proven ability to problem-solve in an ERP-driven environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel functions including VLOOKUP and PivotTables).
- Qualified, part-qualified, or currently pursuing CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred).
