Salary: £35-42kpa

Macildowie are working with a successful client based in Leicestershire to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance function on a fixed term contract for 5mnths initially. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of a large, forward-thinking business.

You will work closely with finance colleagues across the Group, ensuring accurate financial transactions, maintaining robust controls, and delivering timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive accounting records, including (but not limited to) bank transactions, cashbook, expenditure, income, expenses, VAT, and intercompany activities.
  • Post accurate, timely, and clearly documented journals
  • Manage the accounting for accruals and prepayments.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyse and report on key account balances, such as rebates, expenses, grants, and intercompany transactions.
  • Provide guidance, support, and instruction to divisional finance teams as needed.
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Support monthly management accounts preparation
  • Support Group Finance projects and wider team as required

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong finance experience of the above responsibilities, ideally gained within a larger organisation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Excel.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • A willingness to develop their accounting experience even further
