About the Role:
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office. Your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, assisting with general administrative tasks, and providing essential support to your colleagues. This dual-role position is key to our client's commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage petty cash and process payroll.
- Generate financial reports using Sage.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Administrative Assistance:
- Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism.
- Manage correspondence, both email and mail.
- Greet visitors and provide an excellent reception experience.
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
- organise and maintain office files and records.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
- Prepare machine documents and assist with travel arrangements.
- Support other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role is essential.
- Proficient in Sage accounting software (e.g., Sage 50, Sage Business Cloud Accounting).
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
