Job Title; Production Operative
Salary; 12.32 per hour
Shift Pattern; 7:30am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-12:30pm Fridays

We now have opportunities for individuals to work with a leading UK casting manufacturer based in Leicester. The role involves working as part of a team to deliver casting packages for customers and delivering an excellent service.
The Production Operative Role;
- Removing casts using the cutting machine
- Identify gating and feeder locations before cutting to avoid damage to parts
- Grade and segregate removed metal into correct scrap categories
- Shot blasting of scrap / revert runner bars
- Conduct daily checks on cutting equipment, wheels, guarding, extraction systems and PPE
- General Housekeeping and water extraction (LEV)
- Report damage, wear, or safety hazards immediately
- Change cutting wheels and consumables safely and correctly
- Shot blast revert materials when required to remove contamination or ceramic residue,
- Check job card and production schedule for alloy grade and batch details.
- Weigh and record all charge materials accurately.
- Maintain correct batch traceability records.
- Load/Unload Pre-heat furnace with moulds and carry to furnace when pouring is ready.
- Support pourer with safe metal handling practices.
- Monitor furnace temperatures and maintain melt within specified ranges.
- Pour molten metal into prepared investment moulds safely and consistently.
The Production Operative Candidate;
- Comfortable to work a varied role
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as successfully within a team.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety at Work regulations
- Previous experience of working in a Manufacturing environment producing small parts and operating machinery is essential
