Position: Press Brake Operator

Salary: 13-14/hour + benefits

Hours: 38 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.15pm (including 30-minute unpaid lunch break) and Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm

Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Press Brake Operator, to join an established Manufacturing client in Leicestershire.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

Working in a fast-paced environment, the role will support the manufacturing process by performing job duties in a safe and efficient manner by operating various machines and tools used in the Fabrication area, to provide high quality parts and allow the team to meet scheduled demands.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting and operating the CNC Press Brake, working to industry standard engineering drawings
  • Carrying out machine TPM
  • Working to a daily plan, and achieving tight deadlines
  • Quality checking the product prior to despatch
  • Recording performance information
  • Carrying out additional duties within the Fabrication department
  • Liaising with Team Leaders and other departments
  • Hand-assemble parts with the use of bolts, screws, and other fasteners
  • Use of any hand-held tools that are necessary (e.g., screwdrivers, rivets, wrenches)
  • Light assembly work
  • Soldering
  • Accurate completion of documentation
  • Entering production data onto a computer
  • Light and/or repetitive lifting and stock moving
  • Report any quality control issues to the appropriate department
  • Ensure good housekeeping within working environment
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Legislation including Company procedures

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

From a manufacturing/engineering background, you must have CNC Press Brake experience with the ability to read, understand and follow engineering drawings. You must possess a strong work ethic and a reliable, flexible approach. Methodical and organised, you must be a self-starter with plenty of drive and the ability to work efficiently and effectively. You must also possess the following:

  • Numerate and literate

  • Confident to work on own initiative as necessary
  • Highly motivated and well organised
  • Good practical skills
  • The ability to work quickly and methodically
  • The ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
  • The ability to follow instructions
  • A strong awareness of Health and Safety
  • Flexible in approach
  • Experience in using hand and power tools and also specialty tools
  • Computer literate
