The Company:ER Recruitment is working with a well-established, nationwide consultancy known for delivering high-quality, multi-disciplinary services across the built environment. With a collaborative culture and strong focus on employee development, they offer a supportive environment where your career can thrive.As a key part of the Finance team, this position supports the Credit Control Manager in managing accounts receivable. You will contribute to the operational success of the business by taking ownership of collection activities and supporting processes to ensure accurate, timely payments.Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Credit Controller:

  • Collecting payments from both private and public sector clients via phone and email.
  • Ensuring timely invoice distribution and monthly statements.
  • Monitoring portals and inboxes to ensure proper processing.
  • Resolving billing-related queries including purchase order issues and invoicing errors.
  • Raising credit notes and correcting billing issues to facilitate payment.
  • Liaising with internal teams, including project managers, to support prompt query resolution.
  • Maintaining accurate client contact databases and monitoring credit limits.
  • Identifying credit risks and escalating concerns where necessary.
  • Updating payment promises and remittances daily, contributing to cash flow forecasting.

About You as the Senior Credit Controller:

  • Proven experience in a credit control position.
  • Background in the construction consultancy or contractor sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and financial software.
  • A good understanding of credit control principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
  • Confidence in cash forecasting and managing credit risk.
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
