Alexander Daniels Credit Division are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Credit Controller on behalf of our client who are an established company and recognised as a leader in its industry. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team as a sole Senior Credit Controller reporting directly to the Financial Controller. In this role, you will take full ownership of the credit control process, ensuring timely payments from customers and minimising bad debt risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit checks and financial analysis to assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Establish and maintain credit limits based on customers' financial status and payment histories.
- Monitor customer accounts and aging reports to track overdue payments and identify delinquent accounts.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding invoices through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
- Work closely with internal departments, including Sales and Customer Service, to resolve customer queries and payment disputes.
- Escalate unresolved payment issues and high-risk accounts to senior management.
- Prepare and distribute monthly aging reports, credit risk assessments, and collection forecasts to management.
- Regularly review and improve credit control policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Utilise relevant credit control systems such as Business Control/Microsoft Dynamics for effective credit management.
- Manage the posting of cash and oversee relationships with credit insurers and invoice financing.
- Identify and address potential credit risks, escalating as necessary.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
- Strong knowledge of credit management, analysis techniques, and collections procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables for financial analysis.
- Experience with credit risk assessment tools and credit reporting agencies is preferred.
