This company is a long-established electrical equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, with over a century of engineering expertise. They specialise in the design and production of components used in power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as in sectors such as industrial automation, marine, telecoms, and rail. Supplying major contractors, OEMs, and end users across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, we are known for delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. This role sits within their industrial resistor development team.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating and managing designs for high-power resistor systems. This includes producing drawings, 3D models, and calculations to support manufacturing, as well as selecting electrical components and ensuring designs meet industry standards. You'll work closely with other teams to solve technical issues, support product testing and development, and keep projects on time and within budget. The role also involves reviewing and approving design work, updating documentation, and following quality procedures.

THE ROLE

• Produce design calculations, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing
• Design and model electrical systems in 3D using AutoCAD
• Select electrical components and create Bills of Materials
• Approve and review technical drawings and design documents
• Support product development, testing, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with production, sales, and engineering teams to deliver projects on time
• Monday to Thursday: 8:15- 17:00, Friday 8:15 - 13:00

THE PERSON

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo or Siemens
• ISO 9001 design experience
• Familiarity with the CE marking process and DFMEA
• Degree or HNC in related subject
