Maintenance Electrician – £55,437 – Leicester (LE3)
4 on 4 off (12 hr shifts) – 9% Pension + Health Cash Plan + OT + Bonus

ATA are supporting a long-established global manufacturing business with over 22,000 employees and 300+ sites worldwide. This Leicester facility is one of the company’s most productive plants in Europe, specialising in high-speed packaging solutions for leading food brands. With over £5 million in CAPEX investment planned for the next year, a recently completed £1 million upgrade, and a strong focus on automation, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join a forward-thinking site with exceptional long-term prospects.

What you’ll be doing
As a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of a range of fast-paced production equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • PPMs, installations, and responding to breakdowns across multiple production lines.
  • Fault finding using PLCs, multimeters, and electrical drawings.
  • Supporting major engineering projects and CAPEX installations, including new ovens and automated process lines.
  • Ensuring production uptime through proactive maintenance and reliability improvements.
  • Maintaining and improving equipment such as Minster coil feed lines, body makers, rinsers, dryers, flangers, beaders, LSM bins, and conveyors producing up to 50,000 products per hour.

What the client is looking for
To succeed as a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll need:

  • A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.)
  • Experience fault finding on complex control systems and industrial machinery.
  • Understanding of PLC fault finding (Allen Bradley preferred).
  • Strong technical mindset and a commitment to long-term development within a global organisation.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance with strong communication and teamwork skills.
