About the Role
Our client are looking to recruit a Trainee Machine Technician to join their engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideally suited to a school leaver who has completed an NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering and is looking to build a long-term career in engineering.
You will work alongside experienced Maintenance Engineers, learning how to maintain, service, and support production machinery.
Full training will be provided, but a good attitude, reliability, and a genuine interest in engineering are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with and progressively take responsibility for planned and preventative maintenance of manufacturing machinery
Support the engineering team with breakdown response and fault-finding (primarily electrical and some mechanical)
Carry out routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
Learn to diagnose faults and help implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
Support continuous improvement activities within the engineering and production teams
About You:
NVQ (or equivalent) in Performing Manufacturing Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Strong interest in engineering and manufacturing
Willingness to learn and take instruction
Good timekeeping and a reliable work ethic
Basic understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environment
