We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Finance Team within Children and Family Services. This role requires a candidate who excels in invoicing, procurement and is proficient in using Excel and bespoke databases. The ideal candidate will have experience in educational budgeting, although this is not essential.
Day-to-day of the role:- Take day-to-day responsibility for specific Children and Family Services budgets, including budget preparation and monitoring of income and expenditure.
- Utilise financial systems effectively, including Excel spreadsheets and other local authority software systems.
- Provide financial information to support budget monitoring
- Prepare and certify invoices and salary claim forms for payment, approve procurement orders, and control monitoring of delivery notes.
- Support the Business Manager – Operations with regular budget management requirements.
- Manage and control imprest accounts and P-cards in accordance with financial regulations, including reconciliation and initial authorisation of payments..
- Monitor the use of LCC grants to ensure funds are spent in accordance with guidance.
- Produce and present reports and provide advice on policies and strategy as necessary.
- Act as a point of contact for advice and guidance on FEEE payments and administration issues to both internal and external partners.
- Strong attention to detail and experience in handling multiple professional interactions.
- Professional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with bespoke databases.
- Experience in budget setting and monitoring, preferably within an educational context.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in financial management within a similar role is highly desirable.
