NET Recruit are partnering with a highly successful property business to assist them on their search for a Head of Finance in the Leicester area.Your RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to strategic financial planning by producing long-term cash flow forecasts and compiling key data to support new funding agreements
  • Overseeing the finance team, providing necessary support and resources to help them fulfil their roles, develop professionally, and comply with procedures for one-to-ones and annual reviews
  • Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, including posting to the accounts system, recording customer receipts, and processing all purchase invoices accurately
  • Handling payroll processing using Sage, including onboarding new employees, calculating gross and net pay, managing pension scheme submissions, and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Monitoring bank account activity, preparing and delivering bank balance summaries to the Managing Director, and completing monthly bank reconciliations within the Sage system
  • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of company accounts, coordinating with accountants and auditors as needed, and ensure prompt payment of Corporation Tax
  • Preparing management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, and generating reports such as payroll costs, overdue debts, and project cost summaries
  • Developing and monitoring business KPIs, such as overtime expenses, and debt levels
  • Creating annual and multi-year budgets, producing variance reports comparing actual performance to budget, and updating forecasts continuously to support effective financial planning and delivery
  • Periodically reviewing and updating financial controls, policies, and procedures to align with current business needs, ensuring secure management of supplier payments and online banking
  • Coordinating with external accountants and auditors by providing all necessary documentation for account preparation and audit, and responding promptly to any queries raised
  • Ensuring VAT Returns are prepared and submitted accurately and on time

  • MUST be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), as qualified by experience will not be considered
  • Extensive experience within a senior finance/financial leadership position
  • Strong technical knowledge of areas such as payroll, invoicing, legal compliance and systems management
  • Ideally, exposure to bank funding and corporation tax
  • Effective people management skills and experience
  • Exquisite communication abilities
  • Excellent IT competencies, including Microsoft Office, Sage and other accounting/banking software
