Robert Half is partnering with a leading East Midlands business to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting.

This is a high-profile opportunity within a successful, growing organisation known for its commercial strength and professional development culture. The business operates in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and is looking for a technically strong finance leader to oversee group financial reporting and ensure continued rigour across financial controls and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of statutory accounts and financial statements across the group

  • Own the month-end and year-end reporting processes, driving improvements in quality and efficiency

  • Manage the external audit process and act as key point of contact with external auditors

  • Provide technical accounting guidance in line with IFRS and UK GAAP, advising on complex accounting matters

  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls, policies and procedures

  • Support the CFO and wider finance leadership team on transformation projects and business initiatives

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants

What we are looking for:
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong post-qualified experience

  • Background in audit or technical accounting, ideally with a top-tier firm and subsequent experience in industry

  • Proven experience managing statutory accounts and external audit processes for complex, multi-entity organisations

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a hands-on, proactive approach

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, change-focused environment with tight deadlines
