Job Title: PRU Teaching AssistantLocation: Leicester, LeicestershireStart Date: September 2025Salary: £95-£105 per dayAspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced PRU Teaching Assistant to work in a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Leicester. This is a rewarding role, ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with complex behavioural needs and helping them engage in their education.Key Responsibilities:Support children with behavioural challenges and additional needs, providing individualised assistance to help them access the curriculum.Assist the teacher in managing classroom behaviour, using effective strategies to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.Provide one-to-one or small group support, including emotional and social guidance to pupils who may struggle with traditional school settings.Help with the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring pupils are fully engaged and involved.Support students with developing social skills and coping strategies to improve their behaviour and school experience.Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and senior staff.The ideal candidate will have:Experience working with children who have behavioural challenges and/or additional needs (essential).Previous UK-based experience in a similar educational setting (essential).A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children, especially those who may have faced difficult circumstances.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to implement these in a sensitive and proactive way.A passion for helping children succeed, even when faced with barriers to learning.Additional Information:Full-time position starting in September 2025.The daily rate is £95-£105, depending on experience and qualifications.This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, forward-thinking environment with a focus on both student welfare and academic success.If you have experience in working with children with challenging behaviour and are looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, we want to hear from you!How to Apply:Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you would be a great fit for this role .Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
