About the Roles

Long Term Futures are looking for a number of enthusiastic and resilient individuals to join our partner Alternative Provisions across Leicester and Leicestershire. These settings support children and young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or who may not be thriving in mainstream education.

Working in an Alternative Provision is incredibly rewarding - every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a genuine impact. With small class sizes, high levels of staff support and a focus on wellbeing, these schools create structured environments where young people can re-engage with learning.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Supporting young people to manage behaviour, emotions and social challenges
  • Getting involved in creative, practical and physical learning activities
  • Helping deliver tailored learning and behaviour plans
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to promote progress and wellbeing

What We're Looking For

  • A resilient, can-do attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A patient, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to working with young people with SEMH
  • Active and hands-on individuals are highly desirable
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Suitable backgrounds include:
Sports coaches, youth workers, residential support workers, teaching assistants, support workers, mentors, graduates (Psychology, Criminology, Sports Science, Education), or those from ex-forces / public services backgrounds.
