RECFinancial are seeking to recruit a Temporary part-time HR Assistant for a Leicester based client, to support and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a client's HR function.

In this dynamic and hands-on role, the successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to lead initiatives that enhance our HR processes, support recruitment and onboarding, and contribute to a positive employee experience across the organisation.

Main Role of the HR Assistant

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of current HR practices and make recommendations to SLT for improvement.

  • Co-develop and implement standardised HR templates, documents, and procedures.

  • Set up and maintain organised HR folders and systems, including updates to the website.

  • Review and update the Handbook to ensure it is current and compliant.

  • Evaluate current HR suppliers and contracts in partnership with the Director, and provide recommendations for improved service and value.

Responsibilities of the HR Assistant role

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, and managing references.

  • Ensure robust HR checks are carried out for all new hires and volunteers (e.g. DBS, Right to Work, Equal Opportunities, References).

  • Oversee contract issuance and onboarding administration for staff.

  • Support hiring managers in setting up IT access, logins, and required equipment to ensure a smooth start for new joiners.

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of an engaging and supportive induction experience for all new starters.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar HR support role.

  • Ideally a CIPD Level 3 Qualification preferred
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work proactively.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.

  • Familiarity with HR systems and processes

  • Passionate about improving people processes and delivering a great employee experience.
