Our client is a fast-paced, innovative organisation specialising in the supply of POS/POP within the temporary and permanent display industry and are now looking to expand our Development Design team to support further success.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Development Designer who is ready for their next career move. The role is office-based in Leicester and offers the chance to work on exciting and varied projects.
As a Development Designer, your role will include:
- Developing detailed 3D and 2D CAD models for POS displays using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Interpreting creative briefs and turning conceptual ideas into production-ready solutions.
- Collaborating with account managers, creatives, suppliers, and production teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Producing technical drawings, assembly guides, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Ensuring designs meet structural, safety, and brand guidelines.
- Supporting prototyping, testing, and on-site installations when required.
- Sourcing materials and selecting production methods aligned with design requirements and budget constraints.
- Conducting site surveys as needed.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure accurate production outputs and timelines.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
- Reporting on risks in a timely manner to support business decisions.
- Supporting team growth through training, coaching, and collaboration with Planning, Workshop, and Pre-Production departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Product Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
- Previous experience working with both temporary and permanent POS displays.
