About the Client

Our client designs and manufactures innovative dispensing systems, closures, and packaging solutions used by leading global brands across the personal care, food & beverage, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

They are part of an international group recognised for engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

As part of their ongoing growth, They're looking for technically minded Production Operative to join their Leicester manufacturing site, working within our 4 on / 4 off night shift team.

 

The Role

You'll play a key part in ensuring packaging components are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll operate and monitor moulding and assembly machinery, carry out quality checks, and provide first-line technical support for simple faults or system errors during production.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Operate production and assembly equipment following standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Carry out regular product and process quality checks. - Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or system issues on the line. - Escalate more complex faults to the on-site engineering team when needed. - Support line changeovers, setups, and basic maintenance tasks. - Maintain accurate production and downtime records. - Uphold high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.

 

About You

We're looking for a practical, technically minded individual with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (plastics, packaging, or FMCG preferred).

- Some technical, mechanical or electrical knowledge - able to safely identify and resolve simple faults. - Comfortable working a 12-hour night shift pattern (4 on / 4 off). - A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes. - Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player.

 

Desirable:

- Experience operating injection moulding or automated assembly machinery.

- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled systems

- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. mechanical, electrical, or maintenance engineering).

- Forklift licence (not essential).
