Role Overview:

Our client is looking to appoint a hands-on and experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day running of our fabrication department. This is a key leadership role that will ensure projects are delivered on time, to spec, and in line with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of welders, fabricators, and general operatives on the shop floor

  • Allocate work to ensure daily and weekly production targets are met

  • Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings and offer technical support where needed

  • Carry out in-process quality checks to ensure finished work meets specifications

  • Monitor staff performance and provide training and development where appropriate

  • Maintain a safe and well-organised working environment in line with HSE guidelines

  • Liaise closely with production planners, engineers, and management to resolve issues and keep work flowing

  • Drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency across the department

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a metal fabrication environment

  • Strong working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes (MIG Welding, Robot Welding, Fabrication, Folding etc.)

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and lead by example in a hands-on role

  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills

  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures

  • Comfortable with problem-solving and working to deadlines

Preferred:

  • Forklift licence

  • NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent
