We are recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join an innovative organisation based in the East Midlands.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the business as it continues its rapid growth, ensuring compliance with regulations while driving excellence in commercial contracts.

About the Role:

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be at the forefront of the company's legal operations, providing expert advice on commercial contracts and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across departments to draft, negotiate, and manage complex agreements while ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help safeguard the business as it scales, enabling sustainable growth and mitigating risks in a dynamic industry landscape.

This role offers hybrid working arrangements, giving you flexibility while being part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnership deals, and service-level agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on compliance and regulatory matters relevant to the technology sector.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and ensure the business remains compliant with applicable laws and standards.
  • Develop and implement robust compliance frameworks to support sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and product development to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Identify potential legal risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support senior management with legal guidance on strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 5+ years PQE, ideally within technology or financial services.
  • Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Proven track record in regulatory compliance work, particularly within financial services
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and provide practical solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
