  • Job Description: The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the transformation of Home-to-School Transport from the Transport & Highways directorate to the Children's Services directorate. They will represent the council for the service nationally and regionally, contributing to development and implementation. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing both mainstream and SEND transport and will be responsible for managing, developing, and delivering transport policies for the council within public transport. This is a 6-12 month contract role with hybrid working.

We are working with a local authority situated inCentral Englandin their search for aPassenger Operations Transport Managerwith the skillset to be able to assist the Head/Chief of Children Services and Passenger Transport.

You'll be responsible foractively aiming to assist with the transformation from bringing Home-to-School Transport from the Transport & Highways directorate to the Children's Services directorate.(You'll be representing the council for the service nationally and regionally contributing to development and implementation)

The ideal candidate will manage our home-to-school transport function. The candidate must have direct experience in managing this service area due to the specialism involved in managing both mainstream and SEND transport. Managing, developing, and delivering transport policies for the council within public transport will be the core aspect.

Additionally, having experience in managing the Passenger Transport remit would be appreciated; across BSIP, Adult and Social care transport, Public Transport,

  • This role lands inside IR35, contracted for 6-12 months initially.
  • Hybrid working, office presence 1-2x per week
