Description
Key responsibilities for the Procurement Manager role include:
- Lead end-to-end procurement for high-value projects (£200,000 to £25 million) and mid-value projects (£25,000 to £200,000), ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.
- Support low-value procurements (under £25,000), offering expert guidance to teams.
- Contribute to and implement procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct market research to inform decisions, identifying cost drivers and innovations.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, balancing needs with effective risk management.
- Maintain and update the strategic procurement pipeline.
- Ensure all procurements adhere to internal policies and legal requirements.
Profile
A successful Procurement Manager should have:
- 3 years of experience working in public sector procurement.
- Experience in conducting major procurement exercises in a multitude of categories, ranging from hard and soft facilities, responsive and planned repairs, development, and back-office solutions.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in managing contracts and delivering improved supplier performance.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and related tools.
- The ability to analyse data and provide meaningful insights.
