Maintenance Engineer – Contract Role (Leicester)

We are recruiting for a Contract Maintenance Engineer to join a busy food factory in Leicester. You will be part of a small engineering team of four, carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure production runs smoothly and schedules are met.

This is a short-term contract (realistically 3 weeks, possibly longer) covering an engineer currently off due to ill health. There may also be opportunities to work with other clients of ours in Leicester once this assignment has ended.

The Role:

  • Provide mechanical and electrical support to production lines

  • Deliver effective fault finding and breakdown repair

  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities to minimise downtime

  • Work closely with production to keep schedules on track

Requirements:

  • Qualified Maintenance Engineer (mechanical and/or electrical)

  • Ideally hold electrical qualifications, though this is not essential

  • Multi-skilled with proven maintenance experience in manufacturing (food sector desirable)

  • Flexible, reliable and a good team player

Working Pattern:

  • 9am – 9pm

  • 3 days on / 3 days off shift rotation
