Job Role: Development Engineer

Location: Leicestershire

Shift: Mon - Fri (8am - 5pm)
Salary: 45k - 50k

Job Role Responsibilities:

The Development Engineer will be responsible for delivering innovative, cost-effective development solutions that align with client design briefs and manufacturing requirements. This is an office-based role requiring strong collaboration across departments and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes within the display industry.

  • Develop engineering solutions that support client design and technical specifications.
  • Design cost-effective manufacturing methods for both in-house and outsourced production.
  • Conduct site surveys as required to ensure feasibility and alignment with design objectives.
  • Foster a team-oriented culture that promotes collaboration, integrity, and commercial awareness.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful approach in all internal and external business dealings.
  • Adhere to and promote company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and communicate operational challenges to your line manager in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with departments including Planning, Workshop, Prototype, and Pre-production to align development activities with strategic goals

The Candidate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client and internal relationships.
  • Previous experience within the POS/POP or display manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with planning and production processes
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Advanced IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Solid experience in using SolidWorks for design and development work.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and reporting abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet performance targets.
  • Sound numeracy and analytical skills.
