Job Type: Temporary 3 month+

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Waste Site Supervisor. This role involves daily travel to the Council’s Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Tasks: Support onboarding, conduct one-to-ones, manage return-to-work processes, and handle low-level policy discussions.
  • Training Delivery: Provide training through workbooks and e-learning, develop and deliver toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Safety Monitoring: Enforce safe systems of work and risk assessments for all site operations.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate records for waste movements and maintain the Quality Management System.
  • PPE Management: Issue, monitor, and record PPE and uniforms for staff.
  • Customer Interaction: Handle low-level complaints from customers in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Driving Duties: Occasionally drive a Council 3.5 tonne box van.

Requirements:

  • Strong supervisory skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and training delivery abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage records and enforce quality management systems.
  • Valid driving licence
