Title: Mechanical Small Works Manager Location: LeicestershireRate: Circa £30 per hour Contract: Temporary/Contract/Freelance Start Date: ASAPAre you a mechanical maestro with a knack for managing small-value projects? We're on the hunt for a dynamic Mechanical Small Works Manager to oversee a variety of mechanical projects ranging from £5k to £250k. This includes refurbishments, maintenance upgrades, reactive works, and minor installations.Your Role:
- Take charge of projects from start to finish, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.
- Manage mechanical work like HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and refurbishments.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare scopes, quotations, schedules, and method statements.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical support and resolve site issues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in mechanical contracting, ideally in a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general building services.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Commercial awareness and confidence in quoting works.
- Preferred qualifications: SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, or relevant H&S certifications.
- Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Plumbing and Heating, Gas Safe).
