Progress Teachersare looking for a committedBehaviour Mentorto work with acaseload of pupils in a local AP Setting with varying SEN/SEMH needs. You will provide one-to-one support, help implement behaviour strategies, and assist pupils in developing positive social, emotional, and learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Implement and support personalised behaviour management plans.
  • Help pupils develop social, emotional, and self-regulation skills.
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress to teachers and leadership staff.
  • Liaise closely with colleagues and parents/carers to ensure consistency in approaches and support young people to make constant positive progress.
  • Support safe and positive learning environments and de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to provide consistent support.
  • Assist pupils with transitions within the PRU and, where appropriate, prepare them for reintegration into mainstream education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, resilience, and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience in a PRU, SEN school, or similar alternative provision setting is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to professional development and ongoing training in behaviour management.
  • Experience in trauma-informed / therapeutic approaches to behaviour management is highly desireable.
  • DBS on the Update Service OR willingness to obtain.
