Cardiac Physiologist - Community Clinics

Salary: £42,000 - £52,500 per annum
Job type: Permanent, part-time, 3 days per week

About the role:
A leading independent provider of NHS and private diagnostic services is seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join its team in Leicestershire. The successful applicant will perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms in line with national standards, supporting patient care across community-based clinics.

Key responsibilities:
- Independently perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms following the BSE minimum dataset and local reporting protocols (using Vivid IQ machines and CIMAR reporting system).
- Obtain informed consent and assess for contraindications prior to tests.
- Provide high-quality patient care and ensure diagnostic results are accurately stored.
- Calibrate and maintain diagnostic equipment as needed.
- Liaise with GPs and hospital departments to expedite urgent findings.
- Submit timely reports and archive study images in line with service requirements.
- Manage workloads efficiently and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Participate in audit, risk management, and internal quality assurance meetings.
- Support and advise colleagues, promoting good working relationships within the team.
Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent.
- BSE accreditation.
- Extensive knowledge of cardiology and echocardiography practice.
- Familiarity with data protection, patient confidentiality, and NHS governance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
