About the Role

Our client, a respected local authority, is seeking a skilled and motivated Multi-Trade Operative to join their Housing Repairs team. This is a hands-on role focused on damp works, core drilling, and plastering, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality repairs and refurbishments to council-owned properties.

You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in providing a responsive, customer-focused service that makes a real difference to tenants and leaseholders across Leicester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a wide range of multi-trade repairs, with a focus on damp treatment, core drilling, and plastering
  • Deliver work to a high standard, aiming for a ‘right first time’ approach
  • Assess repair needs and determine the most effective and cost-efficient solutions
  • Communicate clearly with residents to minimise disruption and provide updates
  • Manage vehicle stock efficiently to support timely job completion
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and report any issues such as safeguarding concerns or tenancy breaches
  • Supervise apprentices and trainees when required
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and building regulations
What We’re Looking For

? Proven experience in multi-trade work, particularly in damp proofing, plastering, and core drilling? Experience working in occupied domestic properties, including with vulnerable residents? Strong understanding of building industry standards and health & safety regulations? Ability to work independently and manage your own workload? Excellent communication and customer service skills? Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years
