The client:
We are seeking a versatile and motivated Product Design and Support Engineer to join our client based in Leicester. This is a hybrid role involving both office-based responsibilities and regular travel to customer sites. The successful candidate will support product development, project execution, and a range of technical services, playing a vital role in maintaining high standards across service, production, and customer engagement.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional / Graduate who enjoys a mix of hands-on site work and technical office-based tasks, with the ability to adapt to customer needs and deliver practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
You will work closely with the Technical Manager and the wider technical team, contributing to a broad range of duties, including:
- Carrying out field-based technical support and commissioning services at customer sites, including flexible working hours to meet site requirements.
- Assisting with system wiring and related electrical support as required.
- Supporting the processing and technical review of orders.
- New Product Development, Participating in the development, testing, and documentation of new products.
- Providing technical training and demonstrations for customers.
- Collaborating with the production team to resolve technical queries and support efficient manufacturing.
- Sales Support: Offering technical assistance to the sales team, including specifications, drawings, and customer consultations.
The candidate:
Essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office suite)
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems, specifically AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative technical team
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites as part of the role
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Previous industrial experience within a similar role but we also welcome applications from graduates
- Understanding of heat transfer and fluid flow principle
