CNC Grinding Manufacturing Engineer (Setter/Operator)

Location: Leicester
Hours of Work:

• Monday Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:15 pm
• Friday: 7:30 am to 12:00 noon

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinding Manufacturing Engineer with strong hands-on experience in CNC and manual grinding within the aerospace sector. This role requires expertise in setting and operating CNC grinders, with the ability to interrogate and manipulate CNC programs as needed. You will also be involved in finishing operations and machine fault-finding, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities of this CNC Grinding Manufacturing Engineer role: 

• Set and operate CNC grinding machines, including automated grinders.
• Carry out manual grinding operations as required.
• Interrogate and manipulate CNC programs to optimise machining processes.
• Read and interpret CAD drawings to produce precision aerospace components.
• Operate finishing equipment, including:
  • Shot blasting
  • Vapour blasting
  • Vibrating machines
• Work within the finishing department to deliver high-quality components.
• Conduct mechanical fault-finding using HMI systems.
• Follow and adhere to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and quality standards.
• Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy to meet aerospace tolerances.
• Support continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing processes.

Skills & Experience Required for this CNC Grinding Manufacturing Engineer:

• Proven experience in CNC grinding (setting and operating).
• Ability to interrogate and manipulate CNC programs.
• Skilled in manual grinding and working with finishing equipment.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing standards and high-precision machining.
• Experience with HMI systems for mechanical fault-finding.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, quality control, and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills and proactive approach to process improvements.
