Successful engineering business require a Buyer. Applicants need procurement or supply chain experience, ideally within a manufacturing/engineering business and previous MRP/ERP exposure.
The Buyer will join a small procurement team reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager. The role offers an intriguing mix of strategic tasks around supplier negotiation, to the operational day-to-day management of the supply chain while ensuring continuity of supply and an effective procurement service to the business.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Supply market intelligence and supplier selection activities
- Negotiation with suppliers
- Management and analysis of data to shape procurement plans and drive efficiencies
- Ongoing supplier relationship management
- Monitoring of inventory levels
- Liaison with technical and sales colleagues
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain experience, ideally in the capacity of Buyer, Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Administrator, Expeditor etc
- Experience using an MRP/ERP system
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder
- Comfortable using data to drive procurement actions
