We are seeking an experienced and proactive Managing Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 Main Contractor to lead the commercial and cost management functions across construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who can deliver strong financial control, oversee project teams, and ensure commercial success from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs across multiple projects.
  • Oversee all commercial aspects including cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular financial reporting to senior management and clients.
  • Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure best value and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Support project delivery teams with commercial advice and risk management strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in cost management processes and commercial performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and health & safety regulations.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams effectively.
  • Experience with various forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
