Research and Insight Manager (Knowledge Mobilisation) - Health Determinants Research Collaboration
Location: Glenfield, LE3 8HD (Hybrid Worker - 1-2 days in County Hall per week)
Salary: LCC Grade 12: £42,498 - £46,344 per annum (pay award pending)
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to support the development of their Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), which will help address health inequalities through building research evidence around the wider determinants of health. The HDRC is a National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded research team led collaboratively by the County Council alongside partners from local universities.
They are looking for a Research & Insight Manager to help us develop their knowledge mobilisation capacity. This will include working with the HDRC team in the County Council and collaborating with their partner universities, voluntary sector and communities. You will join a team that will work to achieve their project milestones over their 5-year plan, with the goal of reducing health inequalities.
You will develop and implement a knowledge mobilisation strategy so that research is informed by local need and findings are disseminated and integrated into service delivery and policy making to achieve a real impact. You will work with the wider HDRC team, local communities, voluntary sector and universities to understand research priorities, design, plan, bid for and implement research, with the goal of maximising impact.
You will support activity across each of their six pillars of culture change; Public and Community Involvement, Engagement and Participation, Data, Governance, and Infrastructure, Research Training and Skills Development, Collaboration with anchor institutions, Monitoring, evaluation and improvement, and Knowledge Mobilisation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Have completed a PhD relevant to public health or wider determinants of health and/or evidence of equivalent research experience and be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Have knowledge of research techniques and methodologies, and experience in knowledge mobilisation strategies and methods to increase research impact.
- Have knowledge and skills to support the development and management of research bids, providing advice on knowledge mobilisation aspects.
- Have experience of preparing and presenting research findings in innovative ways to enhance knowledge mobilisation, alongside high-quality publications, conference proceedings and study reports.
- Have experience of assessing, summarising and translating research through literature reviews, making it accessible for the relevant audience.
- Have experience of implementing research findings and evaluating the outcomes to provide demonstratable impact.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to engage with, support and constructively challenge HDRC partners, knowledge mobilisation networks, and managers across the Council.
