  • Key responsibilities include optimizing equipment uptime, troubleshooting control systems, and assisting in the upgrade of legacy systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as well as a keen interest in new technologies and the ability to support plant personnel.

A precision engineering group which is currently investing in large scale plant improvements and implementing the latest manufacturing technologies has a new vacancy for a Control Systems Engineer. Working as part of the group improvement team, you will be working on integrating new technologies & upgrading legacy control systems. Candidates are sought with a keen interest in new technologies and a good level of programming languages such as Python.

The Role

Improve and optimize equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.

Improve processes, programs & procedures.

Develop self-sustainable trouble-shooting support system for various machines control system. 

Review the subsequent programming and modification when needed to existing control system.

Assist in upgrading legacy control systems as and when required.

Developing new strategies to monitor machines digitally and to optimise.

Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.

Provide technical expertise to plant personnel including the maintenance team

Troubleshooting failures, directing repairs and evaluating equipment.

The Person

Electrical Engineering Degree with hands on experience of Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLC’s. (Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLCs is an advantage)

Design and implementation PLC control systems for manual and automated machines.

Ability to develop PLC programs, using structured programming practices in Ladder Logic and SCL, including motion control applications.

Experience in integrating industrial robots with CNC machines or standalone manufacturing equipment. (preferable, not essential)

Good organizational and communication skills and a proven ability to facilitate and deliver improvement.
