A Lab Support Engineer /DeputyLab Manager / Calibration Support Engineer is required to join a leading metrology company at the forefront of calibration and measurement solutions across the UK and Europe.

The successful Lab Support Engineer / Deputy Lab Manager / Calibration Support Engineer will be based within a commutable distance to the laboratory in Leicester, supporting the labs continued compliance with ISO17025, assisting with internal and external audits, and driving continuous improvements in calibration systems and methods.

This role is ideal for someone with an engineering background and previous experience as a Lab Support Engineer / Deputy Lab Manager / Calibration Support Engineer or similar.

Responsibilities

  • The successful UKAS Lab support Engineer / Deputy Lab Manager / Calibration Support Engineer will work closely with the Technical Director and Head of Labs
  • Maintain and audit the QMS (Quality Management System)
  • Support field engineers with calibration knowledge and training
  • Manage calibration artefacts and maintainaccurate records
  • Assist with the annual UKAS external audit and ensure ISO17025 compliance
  • Contribute to the development of new calibration methods and systems
  • Collaborate across teams including engineering, sales and customer support
  • Deliver internal training and act as a technical point of contact
  • Within a commutable distance to the laboratory near Leicester

Requirements
  • An understanding of ISO17025 is essential for this role
  • Qualification or degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. Metrology, Optical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering) is advantageous but not essential
  • Must be within commuting distance to the laboratory near Leicester
