We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our new Short Breaks Service, supporting children and young people aged 8-18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs.

Our new home in Mountsorrel will provide short breaks for up to three young people at a time, offering opportunities to develop confidence, build friendships, and enhance life skills.

Flexibility Required

While Mountsorrel will become your base location, there may be a need to cover shifts at other residential services in Hinckley, Coalville, and Syston until the new Short Breaks home is fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence and well-being

  • Work in partnership with families and external professionals

  • Support with daily household tasks including cooking and cleaning

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

  • Promote and maintain a safe and supportive environment

What You’ll Need
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within the required timeframe)

  • Relevant experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Availability to attend daytime training, supervision, and consultation sessions as required
